It is little wonder with its central location and dedication to five-star service. Walking distance from Buchanan Street, and just two miles from the SSE Hydro makes it a fantastic location for corporate functions. Featuring the largest function room in Scotland. The Event:

Blue Parrot Group know the importance of good event photography as well as we do. One of their major investments. They know that the small fee of a photographer is worth it’s weight in gold when it comes to sales. Here at the head office, we transform into excitable squealers when the Scottish photos land. This Mexican Event was no exception, in fact it was a real highlight for us! Why? Firstly, it featured interesting set up shots which are a rarity in our field. Helpful when trying to explain to clients what an install involves.

Mexican Theming

Secondly, this was our first in Mexican theming. All the products were stocked but we had not come across a Mexican brief before. It was a real thrill to see a range of products put together. Delivering an new and exciting theme! Since this first event, a Mexican/ Day of the Dead theme has gone onto be a popular choice- especially around Halloween!

Props & Centrepieces

As you can see from the images, the Blue Parrot team had a wealth of props and centrepieces to install. Starting with the façades, they covered the entrance doors and bar to give it a Mexican feel. With colourful yet rustic wood panel fronts, it gave the doors an old saloon look. As you can also see, reams of bunting draped across the ceiling. The team chose to accent that with Chilli shaped piñatas.  Oil barrel print poseur tables added some finesse to the drink’s reception. With a final flourish, the Cactus centrepieces were installed.

DMX System

Onto the event itself, what a hit! The doors were an injection of colour at the very entrance and fed guests through to the main event space. The atmosphere was akin to that of a festival, with guests donning sombreros and making their way to their seats. The centrepieces lit with our DMX system.  As the evening went on, the dance floor filled, and the centrepieces ‘danced’ with the DJ lights.
