Table Art: Celebrating a Jackpot!
“It could be you!” Well it was for a lucky few that attended this prestigious lottery event.
The National Lottery hosted an evening for 2019’s UK Winners and Table Art was chosen to dress the event. Working with local Warwickshire based PS Events Group, we brought a slice of Lottery magic to Silverstone.
A marvel in customisation, this booking was all about the Lottery brand. Bringing the distinctive company aesthetic to the forefront of the event made for a complex and challenging brief- one we relished! Here at Table Art we jump at an opportunity to make a bespoke brief and reality. This was an exciting brief in that it was keen to deliver a strong sense of brand- something we are experts at doing! Here we take a close look at the event, covering everything from the initial proposal to the end results.
The Venue
Silverstone is so much more than it is racing heritage, it is a venue perfect for corporate events! With a dedicated events team, they cover a vast spectrum of events. Everything from product launches, small meetings and training, team building activities, industry conferences and award ceremonies. There is nothing the Silverstone team cannot deliver!
We had the pleasure of working in the Silverstone Wing. The focal point for events held at Silverstone, the wing offers the latest in event facilities. Incorporating five halls and smaller conference and meeting rooms. It is situated right in the centre of the world-famous circuit. As the home of British racing, it proves to be an irresistible draw for the Events Industry. Excluding all the glamour and sophisticated of an F1 event, this venue is a showstopper.
An Exciting Development
An exciting development in the pipeline is a new hotel complex due to open in 2021. The Hilton Garden Inn will overlook the track and be within walking distance of the Silverstone Events Wing. With a walkthrough tunnel, delegates can walk straight from their accommodation to the event. A vital lifeline for an event planner looking to accommodate their guests.
We have had the great pleasure of working at the Silverstone Wing for many years. We must say that this Lotto event was a real highlight.
The Agency
The PS Events Group are the creative masterminds behind this Lottery Event. As a unique production company specialising in high end entertainment and event planning, they have a loyal clientele that come to them to deliver spectacular events year after year. Working closely with the Silverstone Events team, they value immersive live experiences that wow guests.
As we are based in Leamington Spa, it is a rarity to come across a local events agency. We work primarily with companies based in the major cities of London, Birmingham, and Manchester. It always comes as such a pleasant surprise when we learn a company is just a stones throw away. That was certainly the case for this event when the PS Group got in touch. Based in Warwickshire, the PS Group had come across us at the Event Production Show earlier in the year. Having kept us in mind, when the Lottery brief came to them- they contacted us direct to see how we could help!
The Product
Every Friday we send out a newsletter with the latest news and products from Table Art. It was this newsletter, featuring our new Glow Bubble table centres that caught the attention of the PS Team. Instantly thinking that they would make great table centres for this lottery event, they jumped on the phone and spoke with our sales team. The brief was simple, they wanted the famous lottery balls to be replicated as centrepieces. Plus an organic balloon wall with all the brand colours expected on a National Lottery event. Table Art went onto deliver this and more!
With the Lottery balls being so distinctive, it was imperative that we got those right. We enlisted the help of balloon specialist Matthew Lewis Displays. Working closely with his printing team, we developed a screen print that perfectly matched the numbers emblazoned on those famous balls. Once the prototype was approved it was onto the task of selecting the correct colours. Using a colour chart, the client selected the Qualatex balloons in Lime Green, Yellow, Lt Blue, Wild Berry and Spring Lilac. A perfect match for the real lottery balls!
Organic Balloon Wall
Onto the Organic Balloon wall, the PS Group were looking to replicate the Pinterest photo backdrops they had researched. With a fine tuning of their chosen colours, we devised a plan for the balloon wall- making clear the dimensions. One of the inherent difficulties of an Organic Balloon Wall is that its created on the day, clients will only have image references of how it will look rather than a definitive image. Although it does require a leap of faith when booking. Knowledge of our services and professionalism does give comfort to those worried about making the order.
The Lottery Event
We take great pride in our connections and partnerships with other companies. This event was the perfect example of that. Not just working with Matthew Lewis Displays on the balloon prints, we also asked Matt himself to work with us on this one and create the Organic Balloon Display. Matt worked his magic on the balloon photo backdrop and as it came to life in all the blue and silver hues, it made a real impact on the space.
DMX Lighting
Our own team focussed on getting the Glow Bubbles in place with the DMX programming readied for the AV Team. Each DMX light is numbered and so it’s important to get the layout right, especially for an event looking to highlight it’s winners tables. Here we did just that, placing unit one on table one etc. When it came to the big event, the AV team were able to pinpoint tables and highlight guests at the touch of a button!
The event was attended by the 2019 Winners of the National Lottery and was a fantastically fun event. The Event décor emphasized that with its vivid array of colours. The Silverstone Wing was jam-packed with laughter and the delegates went onto party into the early hours!
The Wrap Up
The Lottery is a powerhouse brand that we can all instantly recognise. When we were first approached for this event, we knew the importance of getting the brand sensibilities right. Any imperfection would have been instantly recognisable. We worked hard to make sure everything was perfect, bringing in specialists to cover every detail. The result was an event that delivered a strong sense of brand from the moment guests stepped into the Silverstone Wing.
This event was also a fantastic opportunity to work with the PS Group. The team here match us in creativity and enthusiasm, a partnership we hope to develop with further events!
